Evening to you and how are things with you? Did you have a great Christmas and are you all ready for the New Year? I guess that I'm doing just fine and have been off since I don't remember it seems ........ oh yeah, the last day that I worked was Friday, 12/21 and that was a long time ago. Where did my week go and I really have nothing to show for it and the only thing that I did accomplish was to install another closet door in my bedroom ........ but I still haven't even painted it yet.
I did end up working a little bit on Wednesday and Thursday and should be in pretty good shape for the start of the new week. And it should be a short week as well as I think that we are getting out a little early tomorrow and then we are off on Tuesday and then it's back to normal on Wednesday for the rest of the week. I think the next holiday we'll be looking forward to is MLK Day but at least that is only a couple of weeks away.
I've also been sleeping a lot and I have been trying to figure out if you can actually sleep too much but even after sleeping twelve hours a day (not quite every day) I am still able to sleep in the next day. Patches can sleep in with the best of them too and doesn't seem to have any issues with too much sleep either. I ended up having dinner with one of my neighbors family but that was about all of the celebrating that I did for the holiday, and then another one of the neighbors had a party on Thursday night that I went to for a while and played some poker and stuff and it was actually nice to finally have a chance to meet a bunch of the people that I see all of the time.
I am actually writing this note from my laptop as I have still been trying to figure out how to remove the dual boot Windows XP and Vista from my desktop. I was finally able to find directions for how to make a Vista boot disk from my Vista Upgrade files that I bought on line back in February and now I am removing the XP drive and reformatting that and then combining the partitions for the XP drive and the Vista drive - but that has taken seven hours to get this far. Once that is done I'm hoping to just pop in the Vista dvd and choose Repair and if all goes well it will put me back in business. But if not the other option means that I'm screwed and if all else fails I'll end up having to reinstall Vista all over again. But let's hope that option #1 takes and if it does I'll finally be done with XP for good. I still like XP but I have gotten so used to using Vista and it's working so well that I would almost recommend getting the upgrade if you haven't all ready done so ........ they certainly have come a long way from where they were when they first rolled it out.
Other than that not much is happening with me, I have a trip to Chicago coming up in a couple of weeks and another one to Atlanta but they should only be a day or two long so it shouldn't be too bad. I am kind of assuming that tomorrow will be mighty quiet and I can get all caught up and I think that 3/4 of the US was on vacation this week so I think that I'm probably ahead of most. But I am looking forward to some people getting back to work as there are things that I need them to do and guess that I just wait until they are back in their office.
Oh, and if you hadn't noticed I changed my blog to be my main home page as the other site was getting so out of date that it wasn't even worth visiting. But it is still there if you should ever feel the need to visit and there is a link to it on the right side of my blog if you haven't noticed it all ready. I was also kind of thinking that it might motivate me to update my blog more than once a week but it hasn't yet but it is quite a bit easier with it being right there.
I guess that is about it for this day so I will end this now and wish you a Happy New Year!

Hello and Happy Eve to the Eve to the Big Christmas Day! Not too much going on here as it's been cold and rainy for most of the weekend and go figure, that makes wonderful sleeping weather which I've bee doing a lot of lately. But I'm off all week so I should try and get some things accomplished so hopefully I'll get back in the swing of things. We'll see how the week goes though but at least I'm hoping that I don't sleep it away.
I am kind of thinking that I still might paint my kitchen but I'm not sure if that is happening just yet as I could do a few other prep projects first, like tile a back slash behind my counters and paint the ceiling and try and refinish my kitchen cabinets plus a few other things that I can think of. I also want to go get another closet door and install that in my bedroom where there it is currently missing one and after the first one that turned out so great I really need to try and get around to that. I just wish that I was better at coordinating paint colors though as that is one of the hardest things to do for me.
I'm not too sure what is up for Christmas Day but might end up going over to my neighbors for dinner that day but other than that I probably won't end up doing much other than taking it easy. I mailed my packages home last Sunday and was kind of surprised to find the Post Office open which is pretty darn handy this time of year.
That is about all that I've got going on around here today, I messed up my computer earlier so that it wouldn't turn on but then got it going again but other than that all is well with me today. I hope that you have a very Merry and Happy Christmas and it will be 2008 before we know it! Take care and I'll talk with you again on another day.

Hello again and what's up with you? Not much happening here so I don't have much to report - we were suppose to get a huge ice storm last night but that never happened and all we got was rain. And today the winds have picked up just like they said they were going to and it's really whipping around out there - gusts of 50 mph or something like that. I'd been mighty cold too and think that tomorrow's high is only in the 30's with the nights down in the 20's - winter has definitely arrived and I think that it's going to stay around for a while.
I ended up doing all of my Christmas crap yesterday and got that all out of the way - and ended up shopping at Toys R Us for a few hours and man was that place a zoo. But I guess that I found what I was looking for, I had to shop for my niece's two kids plus a kid from some charity that we are doing for work who are all coming in on Wednesday to pick them up. They will probably open up the gifts while they are there and also do some Christmas carolling and if I'm lucky they might even have some food to eat.
Last week flew right by and I'm not even sure what I did all week, all I do know is that it was over before I knew it and then my weekend is gone too. I am working a full week next week and then taking the week of Christmas off and that should be a quite one at work as I think that most of the world is also off as well. No plans though but it will just be nice to have some time to hang out around the house and do nothing.
I guess that's about all that he wrote for this day and I told you that nothing was going on with me so sorry for the boredom and maybe there will be more to add on another day. Take care and have a great week and I hope that you are just about finished with all of your shopping for the big day. Talk with you soon.

Good evening and how's things with you? Not too much going on here other than it's been raining most of the weekend so I really didn't do anything outside even though there are plenty of leaves to rake up. And I was in Los Angeles for most of the week last week, I left on the 7am flight on Monday and got home about 8pm on Thursday and it was definitely a long week but it actually flew right by. I guess that it snowed here on Wednesday and came home to that on Thursday but luckily by then most of the road were clear and I really didn't have to deal with it. I bet that we got close to 6" though as that was how much was on the deck up until yesterday and then it turned into slop and I ended up shoveling it off just so that it would dry off a little bit.
I went into work on Friday and worked a full day but I stayed pretty well caught up while I was in LA so I'm not too far behind. This should be a busy week though as I have a few projects to get done and I'm also still trying to figure out what days I am taking off for the holidays. I also need to do my shopping as I haven't even started it and I'm dreading going to the mall but I need to have that all completed by the end of next weekend so I guess that I better get to it. My brother called me yesterday with a few ideas for the kids which will be a big help, as long as I can find what is on my list that is.
Oh, and I flew to LA on Virgin America which I guess is a new low cost airline and I really liked it, there weren't many people of either flights but it was a direct flight and I was there in five hours or less. They also have this tv screen for each seat that they call "Big Red" or something like that but you can watch live tv or order movies or listen to the radio - and you even use it to order food and drink whenever you are ready for it and they bring it right to you. I watched the movie "SuperBad" on the way out and thought that it was very funny, even though there were some naked people in it luckily I don't think that there was anyone sitting behind me. I'd definitely fly them again - we left on time and got there on time and was a brand new plane so you really can't beat that, especially for the price that I paid.
The hotel in LA is coming along and I think that I am going to be babysitting them for the next month or so. We are looking for someone to do their revenue management but we probably won't find anyone until after the first of the year ....... at least until the annual bonuses are paid out any ways. We also went out to dinner one night while we were there and went to China Town to this cool restaurant where they bring the entrees Family Style and dang if we didn't have a ton of food to eat ........ which I ate with a fork or otherwise I would have gone hungry trying to use those sticks. Beautiful weather they were having too and think that one day was like 86' and felt so nice ...... only to come home to weather in the 20's.
And I guess that I forgot to mention my project this weekend but I have this closet off of the kitchen and the bottom of it looks like someone tried to chew there way out of it ...... well maybe not that bad but it's was all uneven. The hinges on the door had been painted time and time again and I knew there way no way I was going to get the screws out so I bought "The Grabit" that I saw on DIY Cool Tools where you drill a hole in the screw with one end and then switch it around and unscrew it right out - and it worked perfectly time and time again ..... makes a perfect stocking stuffer too! So after I got the door off I used my circular saw to even out the bottom and then painted the door and frame and now it looks just beautiful. But now I want to do the other doors and trim so maybe I'll get around to it on my next vacation.
I spoke to my niece Megan today and she seems to be doing well and we hope to hook up at some point now that she's in the area. I guess that's about it for this day, I hope that you have a great week and that you are getting your list done for the big day ....... it will be here and gone before we know it! Talk with you soon.

Hey and welcome to December! Not too much happening here other than it's raining out and is kind of nice and guess that it doesn't do that enough any more to get old. Tomorrow it's suppose to get super windy with winds near 50 mph and if it's still raining on top of that it should be interesting. I didn't end up doing very much this weekend but did spend a couple of hours outside yesterday raking up leaves but there are still a heck of a lot more left on the trees so I'm certainly not done with that chore yet. It was very chilly out the past few evenings with the temps down in the 30's at night and barely out of the 40's during the day so at least it's feeling a little bit more like the holidays around here.
I am off to Los Angeles again this week and kind of looking forward to it, the 4.5 hour plane ride gets a little old but at least the weather will be in the 70's every day. We did end up taking over the management of the old New Otani Hotel and renamed it the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens and you can check out their new website by clicking here. You can also read the press release by clicking here. Hotel number 51 for us (with two of them still under construction) so we are still definitely growing and there is no end in sight. We are also adding an E-Commerce Marketing Manager position that's going to work for me so that's pretty exciting news too!
Other than that we had out company holiday luncheon on Friday afternoon at this big old restaurant that was made out of a farm ....... in Ashburn VA I think which was a very fun time. We even got the rest of the day off which was another plus but I had a conference call that I had to run home to but then I was done after that. Usually we have our holiday parties at the end of November before everyone gets too busy but had been doing dinners before - last year it was at Mount Washington and the year before that at the Spy Museum but this was almost just as nice.
Last week definitely flew right by but can't say that all that much happened and to tell you the truth I don't even remember it. My Patches seems to be doing just fine too and likes his mid-day walks but I swear he's still getting fatter and he walks during the day and then when I get home at night so you'd think that he'd walk it off. I dunno, I guess that I am feeding him too many of his Pupperoni treats! I guess that's about it for this day - I hope that you have a great week and I will speak with you on another day. Take care and talk with you soon.
