Hey and what's up on this fine day? This is going to have to be a short one as I am behind schedule due to the fact that I was replacing my downstairs toilet and just finished dinner and then sat down here. It all started when I was cleaning my brand new toilet upstairs this afternoon and thought to myself how great it looked, plus I've been meaning to replace the downstairs one so I thought that today might as well be the day! So I got the old one out and the new base in but then I found the top of the tank smashed into a million pieces so I had to stop at that point. Guess it's a trip back to Lowes tomorrow for a replacement. And I think the base is in but had a heck of a time with it so I guess I won't know until I turn the water back on.
Not too much happening around here anyways, yesterday was hot as all heck and muggy too so I didn't do much other than to get the lawn mowed. At least that's starting to grow again now that we've had a little rain and we had some major thunder storms last night although I don't think that it ever rained all that much. I was also pup sitting the doberman next door while the family went camping and I had him over here for a while but it turned out he was happier staying at home ...... so I just walked him the last two days. Patches can be a butt head too, not very hospitable at all.
Last week flew right by and I had two people resign and there last day was last Friday so I'll probably be babysitting their hotels until we replace them - actually one person is starting next Tuesday so I should be good to go there. But we haven't found anyone for our two hotels in Chicago yet although we have interviewed a few. And I think that everyone and their brother is on vacation this week going into the Labor Day holiday so maybe, just maybe it might be a half way quiet week and I sure could use that.
I also bought some puc lighting that I am going to put in my kitchen to replace the florescent light that is above the sink and hopefully that will turn out ok but I think that it's going to be an improvement from my current lighting. And I guess that's it, I'm doing fine and keeping myself busy and lets hope that continues into the new week! Take care and talk with you later.

Hey, and what's up with you these days? It's Sunday night and it's sprinkling out and looked like it was going to rain for most of the day but probably won't amount to very much. And it's definitely cooler and is 69' right now and think that last night went down into the 50's maybe and I don't think that we are suppose to see 90' in the 10 day! At least yesterday was very nice but I'm usually so beat I never end up feeling like doing much ........ but I did end up getting out and washing my car and now it's looking brand new again ....... once I scraped off all of the dead bugs. I still need to clean the inside though and never quite got around to doing that this weekend although it was on the list.
I was in Staunton VA at the Stonewall Jackson hotel on Thursday and Friday for our meeting with all of our independent hotels (9 of them) and I left here on Thursday morning and came back at the end of the day on Friday. It was basically meetings for two half days but we really didn't have enough time to get into anything too deep but overall it was a good meeting, at least I think. And we ended up having a dine around Thursday night and the group split up and went to two different restaurants, it's really a neat old town with a bunch of stuff to do right in the downtown area. We then ended up going to the theater at the Blackfriars Playhouse and it was a really neat theater with a live performance ....... too bad that it was Shakespeare and it lasted for like 90 minutes and I didn't understand one word of the thing ....... which made it a little difficult staying awake but luckily I was in the second row so I couldn't really do much dozing off. Here is a picture of the hotel that was restored in 2005 from some run down half way house and they really did a good job with it -
Patches ended up having a sleepover next door Thursday night and guess that he did just fine, they came over and walked him during the day and then took him over there for his evening out. They have a big ole doberman named baby and a big yellow cat named Winston and guess that Patches is making friends with both of them, at least they don't seem to bother each other all too much. I think that I am watching their two pets this coming weekend while the family goes camping, not too sure how that's going to go but guess that it's the least that I can do.
I also ended up giving Patchie his monthly bath today since I had to Frontline him again, and also gave him his heart worm pill so I think that he's good to go for another month. But by then I'm probably going to have to try and find a groomer that can deal with him, if there is such a thing. I've thought about giving it a try myself and might but I'm not sure that I can handle him either but we'll see how it goes. I'm still trying to find my clippers that I bought back in PCB but haven't found them yet - and they are brand new as I never did end up using them on the old pup.
Other than that I guess that it should be a pretty normal week, five early mornings and five full days. But at least the holiday is almost in site so I'll keep looking forward to that and then I guess that summer is officially over and then it'll be leaf raking time again. One of the girls that I work with has been planning a trip to Maya Riviera and leaves next weekend, but Dean the Hurricane is headed right for the resort and should be there by Thursday - so I guess that she is going to have to wait and see how things go before she finds out if she is going or not. Just her luck as she has been planning this trip for months and now it comes down to this.
Not too much else going on here though other than work which has been non-stop and both Patch and me are doing just fine. So I guess that is it for this fine day and hope that all is well with you this day too. Have a great week and I will talk with you later.

Evening to you and here it is another Sunday night. Not much happening here once again but what's new, it's still been too warm to wanna do anything outside. Yesterday was actually better than it has been though and you could feel a slight coolness in the air yesterday morning and then think that it only got up into the high 80's. But that didn't last long and today was right back in the mid-90's, last week I think even hit 100' on a couple of days and it was pretty nasty stuff.
I spent a big chunk of yesterday working on my presentation for our independent hotels summit that is happening this week - we are getting all of our independent hotels (nine?) together to see how we can work together better. We are having the meeting at The Stonewall Jackson Hotel in Staunton, VA which is about three hours from here (south) and I was there once before and think that it was sometime last summer. We are having a day of meetings that start at noon and then end at noon the next day - with an evening at the theater planned and should be a pretty busy couple of days. I have to do a bunch of parts of the meeting but hadn't even started them and I'm still not done but at least I got a pretty good part of it done. Powerpoint presentations ....... oh so much fun.
Other than that I didn't really do much else this weekend, I did end up mowing the lawn and then ended up having to bag it but it was so late in the day by the time that I got out there that it was dark by the time that I finished everything up. I watched a couple of movies this weekend to and I'd have to recommend the Bridge to Terabithea (?) or however it's spelled and was really a good movie ........ a little sad but you'll have to watch it to see for yourself. The other movie that I watched was Daddy Daycare and I've seen that about ten times I think but it's been a while since I watched it and it was still pretty good.
I also had one of my area directors resign on Friday and that wasn't really a good way to start the weekend and was totally unexpected so as soon as I fill a position I loose another one and I'm back to square one.So hopefully someone will come along before the current one is out the door otherwise I think that I'll be babysitting another couple of hotels. Ahhh, life goes on.
So with being out of the office for two days this week things should cruise right by, Patches has been a very good boy lately and I'm not sure why. He's even learning to kiss and not chew so hard, I think that he's learning that it hurts when he's gnawing on my fingers so he just nibbles now. My dog walker lady is on vacation this week so I'm struggling with what to do with the pup but my next door neighbors are going to let him sleep over at their place plus walk them both days as they normally do.
And I guess that is about it for today, I'm doing fine but nothing new and exciting to report so I think that I'll end this now. So I hope that you have wonderful week ahead and that all is well in your world today. Take care and I'll talk with you later.

Evening once again and what's up with you today? Nothing much going on here and yesterday was close to 100' again so it was one of those days that I stayed inside as much as possible, except for the quick mow of the lawn but I think that was about all that I did. At least today wasn't quite as hot but that was pretty much because it's been cloudy all day and it finally started to drizzle a little bit a while ago except there certainly isn't much coming down. Still wicked dry around here too although it's rained a few times in the last week.
I ended up going to visit Rocky Gap Resort in Flintstone MD Thursday afternoon and spent the day there on Friday and it was a beautiful place up in the mountains surrounded by trees and a lake and a golf course too. I'd almost want to go back when I had more time to play as they offer white water rafting and fishing and kayaking and all kinds of activities but I didn't get a chance to do any of those things this time. Plus it was hot there as well but the nights really cooled off and it felt really nice. And the drive up and back was pretty nice too and they have some heck of some hills to navigate. I got back home around 6pm Friday night and my boy was waiting for me, he spent Thursday night at my dog walkers and guess that he did ok ....... I am just a little worried about her note asking if he's always that hyper so I hope that she's willing to take him back when I need her again.
Other than that I think this should be a pretty normal week. My boss is on vacation but that probably won't change anything but I do have a lot of stuff that I need to get done. We are having a meeting for our independent hotels in a couple of weeks and I need to work on the presentations, plus I have a new person starting tomorrow and and afternoon meeting with my TravelClick peeps. Other than that it's a a five day week and think that it's going to be a hot one too. So I hope that you have a great week and that you also stay cool!
