Here it is another Sunday night and not much new around here, Patchie and I just got back from a walk and he's looking pretty well worn out. We took two long walks today and this place is great for walking pups as they have sidewalks and trails and some even go through the woods. But every time we go walking through the woods I end up getting lost and come out some place way far from home but we've got a routine down of where we walk for the most part and we are getting the lay of the land. I also gave him a bath today and he didn't seem to mind that all too much, at least not until I washed his face and he then tried running out of the tub. But even if he doesn't look all that much cleaner at least he smells much better - and he's got this curly hair thing going which is a lot different than what Montie had which was all straight ..... this is more of an afro thing.
And I guess that he did pretty well being home alone all last week although I don't know what the heck he did all day but at least he didn't chew on anything. When I'd leave each morning I could hear him crying from the driveway but at least by the end of the week he'd at least stopped that for a while but who knows what he did after I was gone. He also learned to bark this weekend and I don't know what is up with that, he keeps an eye on the backyard and barks his head off at anything that he sees, plus worse yet he wakes me up barking at every sound that he hears.
I went to PetSmart after work on Friday and picked him up some more toys and some more rawhide chewy things and think that he's set for at least a couple of weeks. I also bought a chain so at least I can hook him up out back when I'm not out there ready to chase him down - he does pretty well with staying around when I'm not there and he's not on a leash but then he just wonders off and doesn't listen to me at all ...... then I end up having to go track him down. I kind of think that he thinks it's a game as he circles the neighbors house and I chase him but he just keeps going round and round.
Other than that I had my semi-annual HVAC check up yesterday and the guy came and checked out my a.c. unit and all checked out fine. Then we mowed the lawn but one of my back tires has been cracked and now it's just hanging there so I'm going to have to fix that or I'm not going to be able to mow the lawn. I did find two on eBay today so I'm hoping that they get here by next weekend and I'll be able to replace them by then. I swear, you can find anything and everything that you could ever want on eBay and lately that's the only place that I shop. I also ordered some doggy stairs for the Patch as it's quite a jump up to the bed but they aren't here yet either but we are still waiting for them.
Last week at work was crazy and I swear I was drowning in e-mails, plus one of my area revenue managers quit with no notice so that should make it interesting for me until he's replaced ...... since he worked for five hotels so someone is going to have to cover them. Plus I'm all ready doing two others pretty much full time plus all of the other projects that I've got going on ..... there is never a dull moment that's for sure. I also took a trip to Rockville MD yesterday to try and get a wireless router working for one of the girls that works for me but we couldn't - but that was my first time there and looks to be a pretty big city.
The weather around these parts has been hot, at least in the mid-80's but not as bad as it could be plus it's been dry so the lawn is looking mighty dry. And so I guess that's about all he wrote for this day but I hope that things are going well with you and that you are staying cool and happy and all that stuff. Talk with you later, have a great beginning to another new week!

Good evening to you and what's going on in your end of the world? And Happy Dad's Day to all of you dads and guess that you deserve at least one day a year to do whatever you want ....... so let's hope that what you did today! Today has been hot around here and probably in the high 80's but I had heard a few days ago that today was suppose to have been one of the hottest days yet but don't think that it ever got that bad. Yesterday on the other hand was beautiful and in the mid-70's, got the lawn done but didn't get all that much other stuff done.
My contractors did finally show up around 9am yesterday, but that was after they called me around 7am to tell me that the wrong door came in and that all he had was French doors but that he would give me that type for the same price as the atrium (french doors cost more than those as both doors open versus the atrium where only one door opens). I said ok and then the project began! Here are a couple of before and after photos and the finished product turned out awesome - better than I had probably imagined and all of the neighbors have been hooo'ing and hawing about how great it looks too.

Inside house before with Slider and after with French Door
What a difference it looks and think that it even looks better from the outside than from the inside although both sides look great. I think that by fixing the moulding around the outside of the door was long overdue and it's this aluminum woodish stuff that I'll never have to paint. Now I just need to determine what I am going to hang for blinds and have been going back and forth between horizontal or those cloth things but I'm still not sure what will look the best. Plus I don't really want to cover them up but I'm sure that my neighbors could look right in after dark ...... not that that happens very often or would matter.
My biggest worry about having a dog is the amount of time that I'm not home but at least I hired the kid next door to walk him each day so I think that he will do ok, it just might take him a few days to get used to things but I hope that I don't come home and find my couch chewn into a pile of stuffing. He seems to like those chew stick things so hopefully he can keep himself occupied to pass the day.

And I have some other big news and that is that I have adopted a one year old cocker spaniel named Patches! He's a great boy but a little bit more of a kid than I think that I was looking for, I was looking at Jerry who was two and Patches who's one and Jerry was more my speed but he got adopted before I got to him. The lady that had both dogs brought them over to meet me last Saturday but I knew that someone was all ready looking at Jerry, and then found out Friday morning that Jerry was out of the picture and wanted to know if I was still interested in Patchie. I said yes and then she wanted me to do a test run for the weekend and dropped him off on Friday after work and was going to pick him up today if I wanted to return him. But when she called me this morning I said he was definitely a keeper, he needs a little work but he definitely has potential. And you should see him with the little kids in the neighborhood and they all just love him and he spent hours this weekend running around with them and playing ball and knocking them down - he loves kids as much as they love him! And I guess that he's from Tennessee and has had all his shots and got the neuter thing done about a month ago and he's from a rescue home so he may have a few bad habits to work through. But I have decided not to let him pick up some of the bad habits that Montie had ...... and I'll also try not to spoil him too badly either.
I took like 20 pictures of him but none of them came out but here's the best that I got - but I'll keep trying - say hello to Patches ........
Well, I guess that's it for another day so I am going to end this here and move on to other things. Have a great week and I will talk with you later.

Evening once again and how are things on your end of the world? Not too much new here other than the weekend is just about over and it was a pretty uneventful one just the same. It's been hot but not unbearable, Friday I think was in the high 90's but it was only there for one day. Yesterday and today were more like the mid/high 80's and it's hot but at least you can enjoy most of the day if you were to venture outside. And it looks like most of the upcoming week is also going to be about the same, so I guess that it's not all too bad. We really do need some rain though as whenever it does end up raining we barely get any, so I've been having to water the lawn and it's still having a hard time staying green.
I was suppose to have my back door installed yesterday morning but my contractor is getting on my nerves as he called about 9am and said that they just looked at my door that had just come in a few days before that and it was a sliding door and not an atrium so I guess that he ended up ordering the wrong one. And then he said something about he had some rush job and couldn't get to me until next weekend which was even worse than getting the wrong door in. But I'm still not sure if he is expecting me to take wrong the door and he's just assuming that I'll be ok with that or if he is sending that one back and is ordering the correct one - but he left a message that he couldn't get around to installing it until next week. But if he was to order the correct one I'm sure that wouldn't be in for another week and then it would be a week after that before they installed it so I'm not sure what his plan is. He did say that he'd take some money off the price but I'm not sure if he meant for not installing it when promised or because it wasn't the door that I ordered as I never did end up speaking to him and was all between voice mails left for each other. Someday though, some day in the next month. I also ended up having someone come over on Monday to fix my garage door opener and they replaced the cable and the thing has never worked better in all of it's life. I still need to get out there and finish up painting around the edges, do the floor and figure out a system of organization.
Last week was crazy at work and I'm not sure if it was because I was off the week before but I was pretty well caught up when the week began so I don't think that was it. I'm having a few challenges with a couple of our hotels and they are keeping me busy and I also suspect this week is going to be just as busy as the last. I was going to go to Chicago for a one day meeting on Thursday but guess that I got out of it and will just attend by conference call instead ...... which is a good thing as I'd loose two days if I went instead of a couple of hours by staying here.
Did I mention that I moved over to Vista a couple of weeks ago and now I'm really loving it, everything that I try works and haven't had any major issues with anything? I am having issues today trying to pull up secure websites (https:) and can't get them to pull up although all of the regular sites come up just fine. The same thing happened last Monday night and I thought that it was me and I tried everything to make it work thinking that there must be a setting that was messing things up either on my computer or my router or my modem, but then everything worked just fine on Tuesday. But today when the same thing happened I called Comcast and guess that they are looking into it - but I know that it is them as I am using my next door neighbors connection through my wireless connection and everything works just fine with theirs. And while Comcast won't admit that they have an issue I just hope that they fix it as some point in the very near future. It's starting to get on my nerves at this point.
And I'm thinking about getting another pup and found two different cocker spaniels through the Humane Society's website and the woman that has them both brought them over yesterday to meet me. One of them is only a year old and sure is a handful and is brown and white and named Patches - and the other one is two years old and a lot more mellow, he's smaller and black and his name is Jerry. I don't know for sure yet one way or another or if I'll get either one but I think that it's just about time to have a pup around the house again. Guess we shall see where that goes in the next couple of weeks.
Nothing else to report though, it should be a pretty normal week around here and I hope things are going well for you too. Talk with you later, see you someday too!

Evening to you and how's things with you? This will probably have to be a short post as I'm running behind schedule and got a late start but wanted to at least try and write something. And it's back to work with me in the morning after having last week off but I stayed pretty well caught up on everything so I shouldn't be too far behind to start the new week. And it sure was a hot week at that and think that just about every day has been in the 90's and was almost too hot to do anything outside but I did get a few things accomplished. And then the rain rolled in this morning just like they said it would and it's been cooler today and barely hit 70' I think. Tomorrow is also suppose to rain in the morning before it clears up again and then it will be back in the 90's, probably for the rest of the summer.
And I didn't get my to-do list accomplished last week but did get 95% of the garage done, I finished taping up the drywall and then spackling that and sanding that and went and got paint and painted the entire thing. I just have a little bit more to do around the edges but most of what's left I have to close the door in order to reach it and there was no way I was doing that last week ...... but today would have been a good day for it but I wasn't really in the mood. I still have to figure out the "organizational" piece and will probably get some shelves and a place to hang all of the yard stuff so right now it's still a mess but at least the walls are looking much better. I also need to wash all of the white dust off of the floor and then hope to epoxy it at some point as I think that will really improve the looks of things. But the dang electric door busted yesterday when I was coming home and one of the cables snapped and I can't figure out how to get it fixed ........ what a nice way to end that project!
I also finished up my bathroom upstairs and had to cut the door bottom due to the tile that I installed and the door has been sitting in my hallway for the last five months. But that took all of three minutes to cut it off and then I decided to paint it and got new hinges and hung it and all is well with my bathroom again. I didn't get a chance to pressure wash my house though, or paint my porch but I do fell better having my garage almost complete. And the weirdest thing about my back door guy - as he was suppose to have called my on the Thursday a week and a half ago to let me know when it was going to be delivered but I never heard from him, and then I tried calling him on Tuesday and got his voice mail - and it's been the same thing all week. At least I didn't sign anything (like he said he was going to have me do) or put down any deposit so I'd be more freaked out if I had, it's just weird that he didn't mention him going anywhere and I don't know where he's gone to. I still want my door but might now have to find someone else to put it in.
And it should be a pretty normal week upcoming and at least I'm well rested but I just hope that I can get up before the crack of dawn for the next five days. I guess that's about it with me for this week and I hope that you are keeping yourself busy as well and I'll talk with you on another day ....... have a great week!
