What a day ..... I decided to rewire my alarm system and plug it in down in the crawl space instead of into the outlet next to my coffee pot ..... one of those projects that I've wanted to do probably since I installed the thing but never got around to doing. But that turned into an all day affair as I couldn't get the wires run down through the wall and then they got all tangled up, then the phone line also broke so it didn't work at all. So I ended up having to run a new phone line and then a new power line but I ended up pulling the power line too far and it went inside the wall ....... I was definitely over it by the time that I quit and now it's at least back to the way it was before I started messing with it. But that kind of killed my housecleaning day but guess that I'll have to do that on another day.
Yesterday was a half way decent day even though they said it was going to rain it never did, and I ended up mowing the lawn and bagged up about three big ole bags of leaves, then I spread some fertilizer and planted some grass seed on the bare spots and also dug up this ugly pine bush thing and planted about four small boxer bush things. I also bought some landscaping lights at Home Depot yesterday too but I have to get them approved by the Homeowners Association before I can install them (I think). That's kind of the hardest part of living in a complex where you have to get approval to do anything - it's going to drive me crazy actually.
And I went down to the Melrose Hotel in DC on Pennsylvania Ave on Friday and spent most of the day down there - and I'm getting much better at getting in and out of there and only took me like 20 minutes to get back to the office and then the usual 30 minutes to get the rest of they way. I think that the drive will get easier the more that I do it ...... I'm kind of surprised that it's actually so close to my office.
I also found out that I was invited to attend our annual General Manager's meeting and this year it is being held at our hotel in Maya Riveria Mexico which was the same place that my bro and me went to last May. The meeting is only like three days (Wednesday thru Friday) but I am going to go down the Saturday before and leave the Saturday after ...... and just lay out on the beach and relax for the week. I asked my brother if he wanted to go with me again but I guess that he's still paying for leaving the wife for a week last year so he was a definite NO! I'm looking forward to some sun though and the day will be here before I know it.
I guess that's about all that is going on with me, work is keeping me nice and busy and every day is different and I've got a boatload of projects that I am working on. So I hope that you have a great week ahead and I will talk with you some time on another day - take care till then!

Dang, where has my weekend gone as it's all ready Sunday night and almost time to go back to work. We had our National Sales Meeting which started on Thursday which was at the L 'Enfant Plaza Hotel in downtown Washington DC so I went down there on Thursday and just got back this morning. We all had a great time I think and the hotel did a great job of putting up with us and Friday night we took a bus tour of all of the sites and then ended up with a reception at the Spy Museum which was also cool. Last night was the big awards dinner which is always fun and everyone that won something certainly deserved it. We ate well for the last three days if nothing else! We also did our break out session on Saturday and this year I think that we all learned some pretty good tricks with using Excel if I can remember them all.
We also assumed the management contract on the Melrose Hotel on Wednesday which is also in downtown DC and I spent that afternoon down there and looks to be a very unique hotel. I also think that I'm getting a little bit better about getting around the big city even though I did get lost again and ended up driving around neighborhoods and on one-way streets but then I found the highway that I was looking for ..... even if it was a HOV highway and I was late getting off of it. Sooner or later it will have to come together - at least today the drive home was a piece of cake! And I'm not sure how much Montie liked me being away as I left him "home alone" but it doesn't look like he had too many parties while I was away - and I had my next door neighbor come over and walk him and think that it worked out ok. At least he got to spend his days in his own home chilling out which I'm sure that he preferred to that of staying at the kennel.
Other than that it's been a VERY short week and only had two regular days last week and was out of the office after Tuesday. But I don't think that I'm in too bad of shape as I got home a little early on Wednesday and did some work and then worked from here before I went down to the hotel on Thursday and then everyone was out of the office after that so it was pretty quiet on the e-mail side of things. I'm not too sure what the week ahead holds but I know that I've got a budget or two to complete for St. Paul and finish up on some other loose ends and I'm sure that it is going to be a rather busy week.
The weather has been about the same each and every day, in the high 40's during the day and down in the 20's overnight and it was VERY windy when we started the week and think that they were whipping at like 50 mph on Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday was mighty blustery as well but at least we were inside all day so it really didn't matter too much. Today was a very nice day though and might have been close to 50' but I don't think that it's going to be warming up any time too soon. And I guess that's about it for today and all is well with me ...... and hope that it's the same on your end of the world as well. Talk with you later - stay in touch when you can.

Here it is almost half way through March and I can feel the spring in the air and it won't be long at all now before it's here. And this weekend was a shocker and was in the 70's both yesterday and today and got almost hot in here but I just opened the doors up instead of turning on the a.c. But I didn't do a whole lot of stuff outside yesterday and now I'm regretting it, I really need to get my motivation back and I'm not sure where it went.
I did take Montie to PetSmart yesterday for a grooming session and that was my first time to a store like that where people just bring their dogs with them to go shopping ..... there were dogs walking around all over the place. And I had to leave him there for about three hours and he's looking much better today and even smells much nicer too and guess that it was long overdue as it was early December since his last shave. He's limping around today though after the abuse that he claims they put him through but I think that it's cuz the make him stand up the entire time they shave him and make him stand on one leg at times ...... but he should be feeling better by tomorrow as he's been doing much better this evening. I also went and got my oil changed at JiffyLube which was right next to the grooming place so it worked out rather nicely.
And next weekend we have our annual National Sales Meeting which is being held at the L 'Enfant Plaza hotel in downtown DC so that weekend is all ready full and I'm hoping my next door neighbors are going to keep an eye on the pup while I am away as I really didn't want to have to put him in a kennel. The neighbors have a kid that I think is going to come over and walk him but I just hope that he is around enough to keep my boy company. And being at the meeting Thursday through Saturday should make a short week ahead but I've still got a lot to do in the couple of days that I am working as I think that I need to complete a budget for one of our new hotels in the very near future. Plus there is a girl coming to spend the day with me on Wednesday who basically does what I do for our parent company in Spain so I just hope that I can keep her occupied for the day. We are also taking over another hotel in downtown DC on Wednesday of this week but hopefully there isn't too much that is changing with their current systems so hopefully that will go smoothly without a hitch.
And I think that that's about all he wrote for another day, I got caught up on my sleep again but I'm still tired and here it is time to start it all over again. Oh, and our 70' temps are only suppose to be around until tomorrow and then come Tuesday it's suppose to be back down in the 20's and 30's again for the rest of the week ...... where did spring go again :\ Talk with you later, have a great week too!

Hey and here it is the first weekend in March - at least the days are getting longer but the temps sure haven't warmed up all that much. Today wasn't too bad though but both yesterday and today started out in the 20's and the winds were whipping around yesterday, but I think that it got up to close to 55' today and felt pretty darn good ..... plus the sun was shining both yesterday and today and that makes it kind of nice out too. I really didn't do much this weekend and have just been kind of hanging out, I am hooked on Chick-Fil-A lately so that's been our Saturday lunch. Then I went and checked out clothes at The Men's Wearhouse but didn't buy anything and then went and got my haircut and that was about it.
Our company ended up taking over two hotels in St. Paul MN on Thursday and one of them was converted to a Crowne Plaza and the other is going to be an independent and it's fallen on me to load all of the information for the independent property into the new system which we didn't even get access to until Friday night. So I spent some time yesterday and today doing that but it's a little hard to do not knowing much about the hotel but with a little help from the property we got quite a bit done all ready. I'm sure that that's going to be my week ahead as well as we've still got a lot to do to get it up and ready to go live.
Other than that I really don't have much at all to report, I watched a couple of movies this weekend which were pretty good - the first one was the 40 Year Old Virgin which was kind of dumb and last night I watched the Longest Yard which was actually pretty good and had some really good tunes to go along with it. I also got some much needed sleep this weekend which was also a good thing - but it seems like the more I sleep the sleepier I am ..... so I'm probably better off not even trying to get caught up. I'm also looking forward to spring and want to put in some landscaping lights and plant some new shrubs out front - but I think that I need to get an application approved by the Homeowner's Association in order to do so. I also found a guy to try and see if he could fix the molding on my front door window and he came by on Friday but needs to see if he can find the matching pattern before he knows if he can replace it or not - I told him as long as it was close that was good enough for me as it beats replacing the whole door just for that. I also need to do a little touch up painting but it seems like it's almost too much work to get everything out but one of these days I guess that I'll have to break down and do it.
I guess that I'll close this now as I think that I'm rambling again and this has been all out of order and probably doesn't even make much sense. So, have a great beginning to your week and I'll talk with you on another day. Take it easy too!
