A Day (or Two) in the Life of Scott Hanno

May 22nd here and I think that summer is here to stay ..... it was 89' yesterday and getting hotter quick but at least the 100% humidity hasn't gotten here yet. I cleaned up and mowed the lawn and it's getting there, my weed guys were here yesterday morning before I even got up. And I also derusted the worst parts of my driveway which was long overdue but I was surprised at how good it came out even though it's been so long. It's all looking pretty good but still has a little way left to go.

Not much else to report though, next week is the big thing with my brother and I'm really looking forward to it but don't want to be gone so long but who knows, maybe it'll be good for me. I'm pretty much ready though, I'm just not sure what I'm taking yet. I'm also not sure how I'm going to get everything that I need into one or two bags either. And I was thinking but haven't asked him yet - but I sure hope that my brother has gotten some sun this spring and isn't the normal white Central NYian as I can see his white butt frying in the sun :) It should be fun had by all, I hope to get some really good pics and we'll see how things go - more later.

And last week has been busy but good, all of my hotels I think are now finally making money and it's been a good year for most finally. Travel is up along wtih gas prices, if it's not one thing than it's another. But all's well, at least the summer is looking pretty strong. And I like being home as I can get into a routine and finally get caught up a bit ...... but I guess that I shouldn't get too used to that. Other than that I guess that I just need to make it through the upcoming week and it'll probably drag forever but then there is treasure at the end of the rainbow :) Have a great week and I'll talk with you soon.

Hey and here it is another Sunday night. It was a good weekend around here too and yesterday was beautiful, probably in the mid-70's with a nice breeze but I think that might be coming to a close. Today was feeling humid and more like summer so I don't think that spring has much time left and it's only a matter of time before every day is like that. But I did get the lawn all mowed and it's coming along nicely and I even found enough energy to wash the truck last night. It started out that I was just going to clean the insides but then I couldn't clean the insides if the outsides were dirty ..... and so on so I did both and it's looking much better for it I might add.

I spent a couple of days up in New York City last week, I went up at the crack of dawn on Tuesday morning and came back late Thursday after a very long day. And then ended up working all day Friday as well so it seemed kind of like it was two weeks worth of work crammed into just one. NYC was pretty cool though although I'm very glad that I don't live there but we stayed at a Sheraton just a couple of blocks away from Times Square. Other that going out to dinner one night and then walking down to Times Square with all the lights on and a tour of the W Hotel that was about all the site seeing that we got done. Here is a pic of us from Times Square although I think that the bright lights had a major negative effect on things .....

The rest of the time was unfortunately spent in meetings. And as usual I was glad to get home Thursday and picked up my boy as soon as I got home.

Work has been a little crazy not being around to actually do any of it but hopefully this week will be more like the norm. I was thinking, only this week and another one and then it'll be time ...... time is fast approaching! I bought some snorkelling stuff today (mask & tube thingy) to take with me as I really don't want to use a rented pair but I'm hoping to get some fins while I'm down there as I don't think that they'd fit in my suitcase.

I guess that's about it though and things are back to normal here so I guess that I'll talk with you on another day!

I guess that another week is done and it's time for another one to begin and here it is another Sunday night! And having my nephew in town last week kind of wore me out, I think that it was more being off my regular routine that thru me but anyways I'm still beat tonight. And I think that his visit went ok and I hung out with them on a few nights but didn't want to know the details, but from gauging by the comments that I did hear I can't believe that it didn't get ugly. I now kind of know what it's like to have the responsibility of a parent without having any control over the situation ..... glad it went well.

Not too much else going on, I had another friend who lives in New Orleans stop in town on Wednesday last week and we all went out to dinner that night - kind of felt like it was a revolving door on my little town. But then my visitors pulled out of town on Friday night and headed back to New York so I pretty much had a normal weekend - and it sure was beautiful at that. I didn't do much out of the normal though but mowed the lawn and enjoyed the weather but other than that that was about my weekend. I think that I'm going to have to be taking a trip up to the Big Apple in the next few weeks - but more about that on another day.

I'm trying to think of much other news to report other than it's only three weeks and counting to Mexico and I can't wait. Talk with you later, and have a great week.

Happy May Day everyone and here it is another Sunday night all ready. I'm still waiting for my nephew to show up but he should be here pretty soon as he called me from the AL/FL border about an hour and a half ago so that should put him here in the next 30 minutes or so (I hope!). He called me a few times today and he kept saying that he was going to be here by 6pm but I kind of doubted that, than he called once he hit stop and go traffic in Atlanta and that really slowed him down. He still made pretty darn good time though as I called him at midnight last night to see what time he hit the road and he hadn't even left yet - so if he's here around 8pm than that's about 20 hours of straight driving I guess.

This should be an interesting week though having him (and girlfriend and two other guys) in town - all day it kind of seemed like I was the one on vacation but had to keep reminding myself that I had to work tomorrow. I went down to the condo that they are renting this morning and picked up the keys and got the tour, it's not a bad place and is two floors, two bedrooms and two bath and has a pool at the complex plus is walking distance to the beach. I think that they should do ok there and will like it well enough, I just hope that they also remember to behave themselves! More on this whole story later I'm sure, it's only just begun.

And on to my life I knew it was going to pour all day yesterday so as soon as I got up I went out and mowed the lawn, I originally thought that I would only get the backyard done as it was suppose to have been raining by 9am but I didn't start until about then - but the rain held off so I finished up the entire thing and was all done by 11am ...... just in time for it to turn pitch black and then the thunder and lightning began, then the rains lasted like eight more hours after that. It's Thunder Beach weekend here which is an annual Harley bike thing and there have been thousands of bikes riding all over the place and dang if they aren't loud ..... too bad that they kind of got their parade rained on but they had a few good days besides.

I also had my dental appointment on Thursday which I swear took 24 minutes for my six month cleaning and again nothing else to report there. They came on Wednesday and did the core aeration thin on my lawn and then the weed guys came on Thursday and I swear the entire lawn has greened up overnight - it's starting to look mighty fine out there. I ended up going out this afternoon and hosed off my table and chairs on the patio in case we might use them in the next week - and then realized that I should probably also change my gas tank on my grill as I've been waiting for the thing to run dry.

My nephew has called me twice since I've been writing this and he's just about to the Hathaway Bridge and only like 10 minutes out so I guess that I'll end this and add more later (maybe, might be the next time). It should be a pretty normal work week for me this week I think, other than the vacationing dudes that's about all that I've got going on ....... four weeks from yesterday and I'll be sitting on the beaches of Mexico :) Talk with you later - have a great week!
