A Day (or Two) in the Life of Scott Hanno

I then went and had a one hour deep tissue massage at the Edgewater Beach Resort which was long overdue! One of my friends got me a gift certificate for the massage for watching her hotels while she was in Aruba, think that she felt guilty for leaving me behind or something and sent me that as a token of her appreciation. It worked out very well too as they are open seven days a week and are even open until like 9pm each day - so I'll have to remember that when it's time to go back again. I think that it's been six months since I last had a massage when I was on my cruise in January and man if it didn't feel great!
After that I went and got my hair cut, and by the time I got home it started pouring kitties and puppy dogs for like the next three hours - think that we got at least a couple of inches of rain while it was at it. It's been looking like it's going to rain like every day for at least the last week - but then it never does so it was kind of a nice change to actually get some rain. I then watched Peter Pan on pay per view and dang if he wasn't a mean little kid - and Tinker Bell wasn't all that sweet either from what they make of her!
Not much else happening on this end though, I might have to go back to DC the week after next for some systems training but I need to see if it's worth the trip or if there is a better way to handle it. All of my hotels are definitely keeping me busy, and I think that there are a few more on the horizon that I might be dealing with in the next 30 or so days. Oh, and I bought a new cell phone on e-bay again and got a Motorola v60ti color phone, and Cingular was even nice enough to program it for me over the phone instead of making me go to one of their stores to have them do it. I like it, I'm going to get a new cover for it as it has some scratches on it but other than that it works good as new.
I also added a Questions and Answers page on my site if you hadn't noticed, it's located at askme.php and the neat thing is that as I answer the questions they just add to the list - but it's empty right now so go try it out and see if it actually works!
I guess that's about it for another day, have a great week ahead and drop me a line if you have a chance. Otherwise I will talk with you soon, take care till then a be good!

And I guess that I picked up working for another hotel, we took over the Four Points Sheraton DC last Tuesday and think that it's going to be my baby - it's going to be a challenge at least in the beginning and a lot of work to be had but I guess that I am always up for a good challenge, just don't ask me why. And now I'm back to having issues with remote access for this hotel and it's my first Sheraton so it's a whole new reservations system, plus lots of procedures and reports to put together so it'll take me months before I'll be bored again. I also took a few pictures when I was there and one was of the Washington monument from the taxi on my way to the airport but it didn't come out - and the only one that did is of the control tower at Reagan Airport and that didn't thrill me enough to publish it here.
Not much else to report though, Montie went to his Aunt Linda's for the week and I picked him up when I got back Friday evening and I think that he was just as grateful to be home as I was - he's been resting all weekend so I think that her dog and cat wore him out all week. I actually think that the cat gave him a harder time than the dog as when I was over there Montie just looked at the kitty the wrong way and that dang cat attacked him and sent him running. It's been a pretty normal weekend and is nice and hot, mid-90's as usual and I sweated my butt of yesterday working on the lawn. I've also been trying to get somewhat caught up on all of my tracking reports and stuff, I'm half way there but I'm sure that tomorrow is going to be one heck of a day.
Oh, and I think that my cable company actually finally resolved my signal strength issue that I was having and that all came out after they came and installed my DVR recorder thing which is pretty darn cool if I can remember to record programs before I want to watch them. But the box has a signal gauge on it and it started out as a -20 which is really bad, then they replaced the coax cable with a stronger one and that put it at -14, then I had them back out last Monday and they fixed some of my sound issues but thought that it was an issue on the pole - so they called that in and he told me it would be a few days before they came out to look at it. Now my signal is a -2 and is suppose to be close to zero - so it's come a long way from where it started and is now almost perfect. It also fixed my volume issue on my pay channels as I'd have to turn up the volume all of the way and I could still barely hear it - but that's all better now and I think that I'm in good shape.
And that's about all he wrote for another day - Happy Father's Day to all of you Fathers out there and I hope that you were able to enjoy your special day - even if you didn't do anything I hope that you got to do what you wanted to do. Talk with you later, have a great week to the one that is ahead. Night!

Not too bad of a weekend around these parts, dang HOT I might add but I got the lawn all taken care of yesterday and it's looking mighty fine these days - I even took some new photos and posted them in place of my April photos on my pictures page. I think this is my favorite one I think and you can click the pic for a full size version of it and I even trimmed my hedges last Tuesday evening .....

Or click here for more pics. You can even see one of my baby orange tree - started him as a seed and he must be a foot high now - maybe someday he might even make it out to the backyard of these days.
And Friday was the big day on the shower and it's now complete - here's a photo of it and there are more where this one came from - so tell me, what do ya think :?)
Or click here for the full sized version (and more pics!).
And I don't think that I mentioned it earlier but I found the perfect hand held shower handle as the last two that I bought sucked on the water pressure and this one is great - not the pins & needles that they say but is an awesome shower, it's a pleasure waking up each morning to it. I guess that the key is that these days all of the shower nozzles are built with "low-flow" restrictors built in, but they are all based on having the same gallons per minute water pressure so they don't work everywhere. But the nozzles on the following site lets you take out the restrictor and use it to it's fullest ability - and what a difference it makes! You can take a looks at some of them here, I got one that wasn't a shower massage but works just great even so - and I would recommend one if you have any issues with water pressure in the shower department. Click here and take a look - click bestshower.com
Not much else to report, Montie got his haircut yesterday and he wasn't all too happy about that - plus his joints always bother him the next day so it must wear him out - but he's back to normal this evening and looking great. It should be a pretty busy week for me too - we are taking over a hotel in downtown DC on Tuesday and I might have to help out a little with that. Otherwise all is going well I would have to say - at least I'm still alive and kicking so it's all well with me. Oh, and I went back to my old Chinese place for dinner on Saturday night as they are now open for business again - and I figured if they didn't kill me before they should be safer than ever, and I was really having a craving for my Beef & broccoli special ..... or was that pup meat ..... hmmm.
Have a great week and stay cool - it's mighty hot around these parts and hope that the weather is cooperating where ever you live too. Talk with you later, take care till then.

I mowed the lawn yesterday and it was almost at the "raking required" level but I blew it off and it still looks pretty good. I also cleaned up my sidewalks again and even them are looking just great, not too much left that I can do out there. I do need to trim some bushes but that can wait, and there are always grass in the planters that need to be pulled up.
I didn't do much else this weekend though but got some pretty good rest, and the only weird thing is that I called my Chinese restaurant place last night for take-out and they didn't answer. So I drove by there thinking that the phone was broke but when I got there there were these big stickers from the Dept of Health that they closed them and that really freaked me out ...... I've eaten there like every other week for the last year and I'm thinking what the stuff!! I'm still not sure what's up with them, I tried to find out but there was no information anywhere.
I just remembered that my shower door guys came last Wednesday to install my shower doors and they get the door up and then realize that they measured the width wrong and it was like 1" too wide and wouldn't fit. So after waiting three weeks for the custom order I now have to wait another week while they order a replacement for the one that didn't fit :( But I do like the way that the door looks and can't wait to get the other half installed and I think that I'll really like it once it's all here and put together. I'll show you a picture once it's all done if that's ok by you.
And next week might be a pretty busy week, my counter part is on vacation in Aruba and I'm watching her hotels while she's gone all next week. I hope that they don't need too much while she is gone - but at least it should make for an interesting week. I almost went with her but we both couldn't be gone at the same time, but now I really do think that I could have used some time off.
Nothing else new though to report, things are going fine and I'm doing fine myself. I hope that you have a great week and that you take care until we talk again.
