Hello and Happy Thursday :) And I apologize for the no blogging but I've been in Phoenix, AZ all week attending a training meeting and left home on Saturday and return tomorrow which is Friday ....... I can't wait to get home to see my pup! It's totally different out here than what you might find in Florida - the mountains are beautiful and for the most part ths skies have been blue, although I could probably do without the 106' temps it's still not as bad as 95' with 95% humidity that it's like at home. Busy week too as we got here Saturday evening and went out to dinner in downtown Phoenix, then we left the hotel at like 5am on Sunday morning and took a hot air balloon ride which was a very neat thing and even a first for me - got some cool pictures too while we where at it. Here we are taking off ........
And after the hot air balloon ride we had a champange brunch in the desert, then came back to the hotel and decided to hit up the spa for an afternoon massage - quite the full day for sure. And then on Monday we went around and visited three of my hotels in town which are pretty spread out, then went to Scottsdale and checked in to the hotel where our meetings were being held. So, since then the last three days have been training, and tonight we are back at my hotel at the airport waiting for a morning departure tomorrow. Been one long week - that I do know but another week is just about ready to come to a close.
Oh, and it has been me and a girl that does what I do that works in Norfolk, VA for our company that's here - and she has pretty much been my tour guide all week. I think that we learned quite a bit but it'll wear you out after a while, and it will be very nice to get home to my pup and my own bed and get things back to normal tommorrow. This PST time zone thing messes you up too, but guess that it's only two hours behind my usual time but it'll be nice for things to return to normal tomorrow. And I guess that's about it for today and I'll try and post a few more pics of the trip sometime soon, so if you get a chance try and check back when you can and I'll see what I can do. Have a happy Friday and hopefully a wonderful weekend - and I'll talk with you later on when I can. Till then - take care and stay happy :)
Geez, even two years later this is still a very sad day, just think about how much our lives have changed since then. I thought that the thing this morning in NYC to remember the moment was kind of nice and in good taste, I liked that they included the children but it was certainly one long list of names! I don't know, but there were a couple of teary eyed moments today thinking back to how I felt that day.
And I remember the moment that I heard the news perfectly, I was at the dentist and they had some easy listening station on the intercom and the news broke in, first with the small plane and then about the jet, and before I had left the next one hit - then as I'm listening to the news driving back to work in disbelief I hear the part about Washington, then get to work and share the PA news with the rest of my office ........ then all you could do for the rest of the day was sit there and question "why". It still sucks today, and there is no going back to where we once were. All we can do is to pray for all of those that we lost that day and hope things will get better again.
Oh, and here is a cool photo of my house - but doesn't it look like the edge of it hangs over into the neighbors yard? And to think that it was all woods all around me when I first got here is pretty wild too - and you can even make out my favorite dirt road in the pic. Click
here to have a look. My brother in law just called and we chatted for at least 20 minutes and was a long overdue call - and I really need to call my niece too, she just started her first year of college and I haven't even wished her my best!
And I guess that's about it for another day - TGIF as another week bites the dust, lets just hope that tomorrow flies by as the rest of the week has! Talk with you later.
Hmm, new features on my blogger this evening, glad that I logged on. And I sit hear kind of watching tv and there is usually nothing on, surfing the web or something and never even think to write something ...... sorry that I've been so bad about new posts lately ........ think that it really got worse after I started my new job :|
And all is well with me, the usual busy but dang if time hasn't flown right by - it'll be 3 months all ready of me working from home in another week. That's the good thing, I kind of like my schedule with my 11 meetings that I have each week as I start out slow on Monday and end slow on Friday - but the middle three days fly by before I even know it. And it's still hot and in the 90's every day, but I was sitting outside this evening with the Monto and it was the first time that the humidity didn't drench me. It's coming, fall is around the corner and will be here before we know it. Gets light alot later all ready too as it used to be 5:30 and now it's after 6, and it's just about dark by 7pm at night and used to be an hour later than that. I really don't like that time change thing, wish we didn't have to go through the stupid thing :(
And the lawn and house are looking rather decent, sitting inside all day makes me want to get outside a couple of nights a week cleaning the place up - the lawn still needs a little work but it's just about done for the season ...... next year will be a killer crop! Oh, and don't even mention pine needles to me as I rake up at least two lawn bags a week of them, I swear I'm going to cut down every one of them and plant maple trees or something like that. And they are clearing huge lots around here too and building houses in the hood, it's amazing of all the things that go on around here during the day. Still waiting for them to come pave my dirt road, or at least come and grate it again as after last weeks rain it's a real mess. I dislike that road at the present time.
I guess that's about it at this present time, talked to my brother the other night and think he went to the NY State Fair like 7 out of the 10 days, I used to go home for it at one point in my life but haven't done that in a while. I need to take a trip, maybe in a couple of weeks! Talk with you later, have a great rest of the week.
