Tuesday here, crazy day and the longer it went on, the deeper I got! I got through three meetings today and they are becoming easier, but it's the other stuff that is always keeping me busy that makes the day fly right by. And I forgot to mention that I bought a new disk drive for my computer last week as I wanted to replace my secondary drive that is only 8 gig and think that I bought it about 10 years ago - and bought a new one that's 120 gig so I'm hoping that I have enough space to last me a lifetime. Man, have I got tons of storage! And it was a piece of cake, after figuring out the dip switches and replacing my old one I just partitioned and formated it and it was good to go ....... faster I think and it only took me like 15 minutes in total time. I also cleaned and oiled the fan while I was inside of it - and that sure did do a good job of quieting it down too. Works like a charm right now and has never worked better ...... now if I could just say the same for my e-mail service :(

That's another thing that's been slowing me down, either waiting for one network or another I'll sure be glad when this latest virus gets cleared out and things return to normal. Hotter than heck around these parts too, went out for a bit and worked outside - and it was still like 88' with 89% humidity - the "feel like" temp was close to 99' at 6pm! And I guess that's about it for another day - and back at it in the morning for a few more days! Talk to you later, hope you're having a great week :)

Just in from mowing the front lawn and it has to be close to 100' out and I'm drenched, Montie is panting like crazy and he just took a big drink. Then I wondered - do dogs sweat like people do? And hey, if you can ask it you can find the answer to just about anything .......

Answer:
Dogs have the ability to sweat, but in places that are a little different from humans. Dogs sweat through their pads and feet. Their skin and armpit areas don't contain sweat glands like ours do. Their main method of ridding themselves from heat, however, is by panting, which is a very different mechanism than what we generally use.

For these reasons, we must take great care to protect our dogs from heat stroke. Dogs with compromised respiration, like bulldogs and pugs, are at a very high risk of easily overheating just because they can't pant very efficiently.

Montie has no worries as he's a great panter ...... and well, wasn't that some interesting readiing :) And now I'm off to lawn the backyard, at least I can do that with the riding mower so that's kind of fun - talk with you later!

Wednesday evening here, like 8:20pm and didn't want to start a whole new blog - maybe that's why I don't write so much any more so maybe I'll just edit the old ones with what comes up :?) Half way through the week thus far, actually aboiut 60% of the way thru but who's counting? Oh, and I was just going to say that I have been missing the comfort of sandals my whole life and bought a pair of some comfortable nike ones a couple of weeks ago and it's even better than walking barefoot! You should try it some time, and I can't believe that it's taken more than 10 years of the Florida life to find out. And I went out and chopped down my stump out front last evening, we got like 5" of rain yesterday morning and it came out really easy. Andyou should have seen the drainage ditches out front as they were up to the street with water yesterday morning - I've never seen it get that high before! I guess that's about all that I had to say, enjoy the rest of your week and your weekend too and I'll talk with you again sometime soon.

And now back to Sunday's note ......

Hmm, what can I say on this Sunday night that I haven't said on any other? Went and saw American Wedding last night with a friend that was in town visiting ....... stupidest movie I've seen in a while and think that they should have given up after the first one (which was actually pretty dang funny). Went out to dinner too down on the beach, that was after a day spent working on the yard in 95' temps. The lawn is looking mighty fine, still needs some more fine tuning but it's getting there. And I was trying to remember when I killed it all last year, and remember plugging it the whole 4th of July weekend last year so it was pretty early in the summer - but I haven't killed it again yet.

Monto got his haircut yesterday and looks great, but he's having knee/joint pain again and has been all day - I'm just hoping that he overworked himself yesterday and will be feeling better by tomorrow. The job is going fine too, and as I fine tune things I think that it'll get easier, I've almost got it down to a science but it certainly keeps me busy. Not much else, besides my sausage egg crestents I've been addicted to I also think that my favorite Stouffers dinners are also adding to my high fat diet and have been trying to find an alternate, but then I guess that's why they taste so good in the first place.

I guess that's it, all's well with me and I hope all is well with you too. Still need to vacumn ,,,,. my Sunday's are becoming less and less motivating. At least most of the house is clean, the laundry is done and the groceries are shopped - guess that I can live for another week. Take care - have a great upcoming week!

Man, here it is all ready another Sunday, if last week sure didn't fly right by and the weekend went by just as quick! Hot too, that's about it, and spent most of the day outside yesterday working on the lawn. It rained yesterday morning and I thought that my day might be shot - but the longer the day went on the sun came up and just got even hotter. I really need to get a new mower though as that thing is about to kill me pushing it.

I've been cleaning up out there a little bit too, washed my patio furniture last week and bought some new chair pads - it's a nice place to go hang out when I need to walk away from my desk. I also cut down a tree out front, more like a twig that's half dead with mold growing on it It's the little one in this picture, you've probably seen it before. But I've planted small bushes below it since - and this dang tree has been one big pain!

What else, got my haircut yesterday and took apart and washed my mailbox (the numbers were peeling off), then stuck some new street numbers on it and it's as good as new. Some deputy stopped by driving down the street and we chatted, can't say that that happens very much in this neighborhood. Laundry is done and groceries are shopped, and the house is clean ...... well, most of it. That's also a nice thing about working from home and I've been slacking more and more on the cleaning, but to take a break from work I can run the vacumn, or the other day I washed the sliding glass door which was way overdue with Monto snot stuck all over it! The lawn looks better and better and that's about it! Back to work in the morning, should be another busy as usual week. Good night and I hope that all is well - and I'll talk with you on another day.
