Happy Sunday everyone! I just wanted to drop a line since it's been like two weeks since I last wrote anything - plus I finally broke down and bought a wireless router that works outside of my desktop so my living room laptop is once again hooked up to the net and I'm good to go and should be writing on here again more often again. Not that I have much to write about tonight though - guess that it's back to work come first thing in the morning :( At least it'll be a short week for most of us, but for some of us it just means that we have to do the same amout of work with a day less to do it - so it should be a very busy week.
And speaking of work and business and stuff, I just finished up Week 2 of my new position, working at home and all and I'm not sure how it's going yet - made it through last week but it certainly wasn't an easy week - I've got 11 Sales Strategy Meetings each and every week so I spend every waking hour getting ready for one, then when I'm done with that I move on to the next one, and I've got a to-do list longer than my arm and don't seem to be getting very far very quickly. It's weird working at home too, kind of thinking it's just a temporary thing and guess that it hasn't sunk in that this is my new life - and in the last two weeks I've never sat at a desk for such a long time straight in my life. I didn't think that I wandered around all that much but just getting up and walking around the house isn't quite the same. The other weird thing is driving - the last couple of weeks I haven't driven anywhere for an entire week - then when I do drive on the weekend it's like I don't even remember how, thinking that I need to take a cruise in the evenings just to get out of the house. Montie doesn't seem all too thrilled with having me home all day either - I'm really messing up his sleep patterns keeping him up most of the day.
Man, I've got alot on my mind I guess, guess that I need to write on here more often so now that I can again I probably will - plus with not having any human contact all week is also kind of weird. I do spend alot of time talking to people on the phone all day - and I bought a new headset tonight for my phone as the last two weeks no one has been able to hear me on my other headset so I am hoping that this one works better. It's kind of kewl too as it works with my cordless phone, so I can wander around the house talking to people - wireless everything is the way of the future!
Oh, and I got a bunch of calls on Friday night about a girl at work who watched Montie the last couple of times that I've been out of town - I called her and guess that she took her pup Boo in to have her teeth cleaned on Friday and found out that the ole girl had kidney failure and wasn't in too good of shape. But at least she got to go home and spend the weekend with her Mom, I just hope that she made it and is showing some improvements. Another one of my friends has been attending her Grandmothers funeral in upstate NY - she got back today and I hope that she found some closure in being there - and for the time that she got to share with her the weekend before that ...... sometimes it's easier to let those that we love move on to a better place, as I hope it was in her case as it was for me.
That's all that she wrote tonight - probably more than you were interested in reading. Oh, Montie got his haircut yesterday and seems to be in pretty good shape, moves around like he's a little puppy dog again. I mowed the lawn yesterday too - and even though it was overcast I sweated my butt off - I really need to find someone who will do it for a modest fee. Still pondering my pool, if it weren't for the $14,000 price tag I think that I'd go for it - but for that price I'm just not sure - plus you get nothing back really in resale if you do sell the house so that kind of sucks - but at least I'd have less yard to mow, know what I mean :?) Good night - I hope you have an excellent week and it'll be over before we know it! Take care - drop me a line if you find the time.

Sorry that I haven't written on here in a while again, but I think that I am going to have to purchase a new wireless router that works independent of my desktop pc and not through it as the way that it's connected now it won't work any more with the firewall that is installed so that I can access my new work network. I'll have to figure that out in the near future as I can't sit in the comfort of my living room and write on here any more - and sitting here at my desk writing this now still kind of feels like I'm still at work!
And today was my first day on my new job as a Regional Revenue Manager with my company and basically I'm doing all of the inventory for 11 hotels that we recently assumed the management of - still not sure what I'm getting myself into but is definitely going to be a new challenge and guess that's what I was looking for. And the neat part about it is that I get to do it all from home and we'll see how that works out but I think that I did pretty well for my first day - check back with me in another six months to see if I've still got my sanity! I do get alot done though without the interuptions but think that the issue that I'm dealing with right now is that I've got so much that I want to do that I don't even know where to start. It's also kind of neat that we get to start over and reinvent the wheel and to set up the process and all of the reports that we will be using - boy, do I have my work cut out for me.
Leaving work last week was kind of tough though and after working with all of those great people over the last three years they all became more than just co-workers, think that I'll miss them the most of all about not going into work. My GM offered me the option to go in and use my old office when I need to - but I don't that I'll need to enough to actually make me go there. I still do need to go in and clean out my office at some point and mail a bunch of reports to the person that took my place who is working remotely - I'll have to try and remember to do that sometime in the near future.
And it's HOT - h.o.t hot and must have been close to 100' both Saturday and Sunday and I don't like that stuff, but at least my lawn is coming back and I can actually tell where I need to mow again - now I just have to get the front yard back on track and I'll be just about there. And I guess that's about it, I just wanted to drop a note to let you all know what's up and now I need to go chill out and hang out in the living room for the next hour or so. Here's hoping that all is well with you and you can feel free to drop me a note at any time. Good night - hope that you have a great week ahead!

I guess that it's about that time of the week again and another weekend has bitten the dust, and here it is Sunday night once again and it's back to work again in the morning. It poured all day yesterday and I didn't even touch the lawn, hopefully it won't be too long by the time I get around to mowing it next weekend but I guess that it doesn't matter if it is. Major puddles around this place come today, so we must have gotten at least a couple of inches of rain. And I spent about six hours yesterday putting my new desk together and what a bear that was - on top of ripping apart my computer and then putting it all back together again. At least that project is done, I dragged my old desk out to the side of the road today and put a sign on it that it was free to a good home, and within a matter of a couple of hours it was gone and has moved on to a better place. I also had to break down all of the boxes and styrofoam and plastic wrap - at least my home is back in order once again tonight. If you want to see a picture of my new office you can click here - still need something for the walls but it's getting there.
I guess that it's also official that I am leaving my current job at Marriott's Bay Point Resort and that my last day is this coming Friday so it'll be a weird week for sure. I have accepted a Regional Revenue Managers positon with my current company doing the inventory for the 11 Wyndham hotels that we just assumed the management contracts on so it will definitely be a challenge in the upcoming weeks ahead. I don't know any of the systems or procedures of working with Wyndham, so I'm definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone and it'll be some time before I know what I am doing again.
I also got my haircut yesterday and went back to the eye doctor for another follow up on my contacts - and we're still not done yet in determing the best prescription for me and I'm doing another sample lens to see how it does for me. I think that it's better than the last one - so maybe this one will be the final test. I guess that once we figure out which ones work the best for me he'll write me a prescription and then I'll be on my own to start buying my own - but so far they've been the free deals but I'll be happy to purchase my own. I got the left one stuck yesterday and my eye was red as heck - good thing that I was there even though they weren't of any real help to me.
I guess that's about it - I'm beat all ready as it was a rather rough weekend and didn't get too much extra sleep but I guess that I'll be ok. I hope that all is well with you too - have a GREAT week and I'll talk with you on another day. Good night from PC Beach!

I guess that I've really been slacking on writing anything on here lately - but I was on a trip to Chicago at the last minute on Sunday and got back Tuesday night and that really didn't help in helping me catch up on my work load. And the trip was ok and the flight was uneventful - and actually I was in Naperville, IL and didn't even see any of Chicago. The weather sure was a heck of a change though and was like 40' the morning that I left - and I didn't even pack a coat or an extra pair of pants! But I'm back in the 90's each day - summertime in Florida and you've got to love it!
My desk also arrived today and was waiting for me at the front door when I got home tonight - all 9 boxes and gauging by the number of boxes and the size of them it's going to be one big project in putting this thing together. I'll probably attempt to do that this weekend, think that it's going to rain anyways and I'm hoping that I can figure it out at some point. If and when I do get it together I'll share a photo with you when I can.
Other than that I've been swamped and have a pile of stuff that I'm working on, the contact lenses are doing ok although I'm on a new pair that I'm sampling but think that I might need a stronger dose as I'm still not seeing as well as I did with the last pair. At least these are easier to put on and take them off as it was taking me 20 minutes a day when I first started out. I like wearing them versus glasses most of the time, and I'm determined that I'll find the right pair and move on with my life.
There are also some changes in my life (well, my professional life anyways) that are on the horizon, but things haven't been officially announced yet so I'll save that for another day. Maybe that's why I haven't written on here lately as it's too hard to figure out what I can mention and what I can't - oh, and our hotel is up for sale and that process is moving along rapidly too. Change - gotta love it and if you can't than I guess you ain't living - know what I mean :?) Night - I'm gonna chill to a little ER, even if it's a repeat and then call it a night. I'll be back - I can assure you that.
