A Day (or Two) in the Life of Scott Hanno

Dang, I'm kind of glad the weekend is over so that I can get back to my day job ......at least I don't strain myself so physically as I did yesterday! My whole body ached today, worked outside on my lawn all day yesterday and man if it wasn't HOT, seemed alot hotter both yesterday and today than it has been and I sweated my butt off every time I step outside. I did go and get my lawn mower back and it's working perfectly, but that meant that I had to get up early yesterday morning to do so - up by 7:30am and out the door by 8am and didn't finish up with returning their trailer until after 10:30am. At least it only cost me $130 but a bunch of stuff that they did, at least they didn't charge me storage fees for the three weeks that they had it!
And I've really messed up my side and part of my back yard though with my quest to get rid of my crab grass, didn't realize that everything growing there was the crab stuff and it's all dead now. I pulled up a bunch of the dead stuff around the side of the house Friday night and went to Home Depot on Saturday morning and bought 60 chunks of sod that filled the back of my truck and layed that out but took way too long and took way to much effort. And the bed in my truck was filled with dirt by the time I got done and isn't the easiest thing to wash out - so remind me not to do that again, k? I also signed up with Chemlawn lawn service to help me in my battle against weeds and they came out and gave me a 14 point inspection on Friday, and told me that my best bet with the side was to rake up as much as I could and plant plugs and they would spread from there - so so far I've planted 9 trays of 18 plugs each but it still looks like crap.
I also tore up all of the grout in my front hallway and had planned on redoing that, but then I figured that I should paint the base board before I did that as it could use a touch up, and I almost did that one of the nights this weekend but haven't gotten around to it yet. And I still need to get to my garage door at some point - dang, I could use another weeks vacation just to get everything caught up!
It should be an ok week at work however, having Thursday off but then have to work on Friday again, probably gonna seem pretty strange. But I can think of no pressing deadlines in the week ahead, have a new girl starting in the morning so I'll have to figure out how to sign her up for CBT, been more than a year since I've had to use that thing. At least my new Group Coordinator is all moved in and ready to go, so we'll see how smooth of a transition things go. And I guess that's about all for another day - so here's hoping that everyone has another great week.

This week is just about over, made it through Sales Strategy Meeting again so it should be downhill into the weekend from here. And it was a pretty productive meeting, lasted about an hour and 45 minutes and ended up covering quite a bit of stuff - but without the GM being there it makes for a different meeting. And tomorrow is moving day for my new Group Coordinator so we've got to move filing cabinets and computers from downstairs to upstairs and I'd like to have everything set up so that she's ready to move in come Monday morning, so I'll try my best to get the computer hooked up and everything moved if I have my way. My other new girl starts first thing Monday morning also - so she can move right in where the other one moved out and it won't even give the seat time to cool off, guess that it worked out pretty well.
I'll also have to call and check on the status of my lawn mower again tomorrow, hopefully they've finally got around to checking it out by now. And I'm kind of bumming about my lawn, the crab grass has pretty much died off but now it's just dead grass and tried to rake a section of it last night but it wasn't easy and when I was done it was pretty much bare dirt ...... thinking that I liked the looks of the crab grass better maybe. I've been thinking about finding a lawn service to at least treat the chemicals when it needs it, might have to look into it further.
And I came home tonight and they've laid the sod at the house next door and planted some bushes between mine and theirs so at least the landscaping will be done before the new tenants move in next Monday - but the power lines still aren't run yet so I don't think that they are quite ready. They were also suppose to extend the fence between me and them a at least a few more sections but said they didn't want to do it before so that it wouldn't get broken, but now the bushes are planted where the fence should be so I'm not sure what is up with that - but if I see the builder I'll have to ask him about it. At least now that it's almost done it certainly does look mucho better than the vacant lot that's been there since I moved in so maybe I might get used to it some day.
Well, I guess that's about it so I'm going to end this here and kick back and watch ER for a while, it's a repeat but it's still a pretty good show. Happy Friday to ya ....... it'll be the weekend before we know it!!!

Tuesday's done, and guess that it was an ok day, at least nothing in the immediate future has changed all that much! I was referred to as a "golden boy" today and think that it was a compliment, at least in the text it was used in it was so I guess that I should take it that way. Another interesting note that I realized today while reviewing our latest and greatest year end forecast was that Group Sales was up to last year for the year by $4k while transient is up by $400k, so at least I figure that I must be doing something right. And I hired a replacement for my associate that I promoted and she's going to do great, works in Guest Activities and knows everything there is to know about the hotel and I just know in my heart that it's a perfect fit, I dunno but I just have this thing where I can just tell who's going to work out and who's gonna cause me headaches ...... and the last two interviews before her were DEF Headache Canidates! It's also kewl that she gets to start next week - when I need her the most and she was so exited about the chance at getting the job that I offered it to her on the spot ....... which I learned later on that my Human Resources frowns upon but it's ok - she's mine!
So, I guess that all is well and life is good, still putting in alot of time trying to get the calling card site up and running and making some money, hope to do a mass mailing by this weekend and get things up and running. Still pondering that other thing that I've been mulling over - have to decide on it sometime soon but I'm loosing interest the more and more time that passes by. And my crab grass is definitely dying from the spraying that I applied on Saturday - but now I'm starting to get a brown side yard so I'm not quite sure yet what is the next step ....... rake it up or let it die? The rest of the lawn is doing fine - oh, and that reminds me about my lawn mower - I've called them the last two Fridays and they haven't even looked at it yet, the first time was like ok, the second time was like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"!!! So it'll be interesting to see what happens this Friday - I'm just hoping that they have found the time in their day to maybe take a few moments to look at it.
Work also signed me up for a cool program and got hooked up yesterday, it's called Go to my PC and it's kind of like PCAnywhere but it connects over the internet - just like being at my desk! The funny part was that I introduced my MIS person to it and had tried it out on a trial version - and now sounds like it's the new corporate standard for offices working remotely. What can I say - I guess that I have a problem expressing my professional opinion in a way that is easily accepted, maybe I should work on that and try not to be so carcastic ....... but it's really hard - ya know :?) Well, till another day - LATER Gator (and you should have tasted the nasty Potaters we had at lunch, who puts tons of garlic in mashed potatoes anyways :?)

I started out my weekend with a trip to Lowe's Friday night, called both them and Home Depot for some crabgrass killer and they were the only place that had it. And that reminds me cuz both of the stores have a 913- phone number and after I called Home Depot I hung up and called Lowes - but I misdialed it and hit the 1 twice so I hung up and redialed it. While I was talking to them another call was beeping in but I didn't answer, but within 3 minutes I had a Deputy Sherrif knocking at my door telling me that there was a report of a 911-Hang Up and he was there to check it out ...... even took me a minute to figure out that I called 911 so I apologized profusely, and he then went on his merry way. At least if nothing else that it's good to know that they are actually there if you ever do need them.
I also met the owner to the duplex that is closest to me on Saturday, he was admiring my front lawn and wanted to know what I did to it to get it so green. We got to talking and he gave me a tour of his new houses and I found out that he's got all three of them rented all ready and they are moving in come the 1st of July. At least he's real selective on who he rents to, told me a little about the tenants and two of them are girls and one is a guy - but based on the looks of the place they've got alot of stuff to get done in the next week (the power lines aren't even run into the place yet). But the place is coming together quickly and I figured that it wouldn't be all that long before someone would be living there. It amazes me though, that he's renting a two bedroom for $675 a month - and for another $200 you could buy a place ...... renting doesn't make much sense to me but guess that it works for the short term (just don't get comfortable renting for too long, k?).
Back to my lawn - I sprayed my crabgrass on Saturday and it's starting to turn a little brown today, so it'll be interesting to see what it does in another week or so. I still haven't gotten around to painting my garage door but did chaulk my bathroom today, tore up the old chaulking six months ago as it was starting to crack and looked crappy - but never got around to doing new stuff until today. I'm really getting better at it too, it looked so good that I tore up the chaulking in the front hallway tonight, just hope that it doesn't take me another six months to replace it!
I got my year end forecast out of the way (for the most part) yesterday and should be ready for review tomorrow, and then it'll be done for another month. So at least that's out of the way so it should make for a better week, my GM is now on vaca and my boss is back and I'm hoping for a really quiet week. And it just started pouring rain out - should help out the lawn too but doubt that it'll last all that long ...... but maybe it'll make for a beautiful weather week!!! Well, that's about it for another day, so until the next time I really do hope that you are happy :o)

I guess that today wasn't as bad as it could have been, my Sales Strategy Meeting was cancelled after me prepping 8 hours to get ready for it, but that's ok ....... and I'll even have to do meeting minutes like it actually took place and you know what - I'm pretty darn good at it! But with everything else that went on today that was the least of my worries, at least it took the pressure off of the afternoon and this week is pretty much done. And tomorrow should be a better day - my boss is on vacation and my boss' boss goes on vacation tomorrow so I doubt that there will really be anyone around so I'm expecting a pretty quiet day. I do need to try and knock out my year end forecast or otherwise I'll be doing it this weekend - so that's my big project for the day.
It was actually a weird kind of day in it's own kind of way, stuff happened that doesn't usually go on, but I guess that I got through it ok. I think that my big project this weekend is my newest battle with crab-grass that was pointed out to me by my bug-man, I didn't even know what crabgrass looked like a few days ago and now I've got to figure out how to get rid of it. I also really need to finish up painting my door and trim on the garage - dang if the weekends aren't too short that I never have enough time to get it all done.
Well, just checking in and saying hey, have a SUPER Friday and I'll talk to you again soon.

I finally finished up de-rusting my driveway this evening, think that it's taken me at least two weeks to get the driveway and sidewalks done but I have to do it when the sprinklers aren't running and the sun isn't hitting it directly, so I should be good to go with the nice white concrete for three more months or so ...... happy me! And I've got the "Termite Inspector-Man" here at 8am tomorrow morning so I've got to go into work late so that I can meet him to let him in the house but that should only take a few minutes as most of the work that he does is outside. It's an annual thing, what can I say and when they don't work weekends you are kind of stuck at their mercy to work with them on their schedule. But I figure that I can get up as normal and work an hour out of the house before he gets here, and I'll probably get more done in one hour than I do in three sitting in my office so I'll be ok ....... SSM Prep Day again don't ya know!
Oh, and I talked to my brother last night and we even had an actual conversation, that doesn't happen all the time so I'm glad that I called him. He did tell me that the house closing on my Mom's house went official last Tuesday - so much for e-mail notice that he was going to send me but oh well, I'm over it at this point. He still has to complete some report to document all of the time and money that he's spent fixing up the place before anything else happens - not that it matters what I get out of the deal as it really doesn't matter to me ...... I just hope that he keeps it fair to all of us.
Work has been crazy as usual but at least I'm getting somewhere, baby steps but at least I'm moving forward at this point. It should be a couple of interesting weeks coming up ahead of us - you, me and everyone else seems to have something going on. Well, just dropping a note here so that I can feel that my day has been fulfilled - and that's about all that I can think of to mention so I'll close it here. Happy Hump again - dang if these weeks just don't fly right by - it's almost July!!!
and ps ..... my www.marriottbaypoint.com website has been dead all day - so I'll have to try and figure that out tomorrow if it's still down, guess that's my responsibility in a weird sort of way :)

Oiey Vei (?) - what a day! It was mostly the usual house cleaning/laundry/grocery shopping day but I also only intended to sweep out my garage which turned out to be an overall garage cleaning day! I moved everything out there and swept everything up, then started to paint the trim on my new door which turned out to painting the trim all along the wall too ..... much more extensive than I had originally planned.
I also forgot to mention that I got my oil changed in my Sports Trac yesterday, hit 1,000 miles and I try to do it at that point, I dunno it's just one of those little quirks about me. And I had to laugh at the oil change guys as they were talking about being careful as they were doing it as my baby was a virgin and it was his first time ...... they did a great job and it's running very well today. I really don't have all that much more to mention tonight although it's Sunday so that means it's back at it early in the morning once again. My boss is on vacation this week and won't be back for another week, then he comes back and my GM leaves town so it should be a quite couple of weeks. We may have to work on the year end forecast once again as it's about that time of the month once again - but our boss didn't mention it so we can either do it and surprise him when he gets back or wait till he's back and then we'll be behind, so I guess that if I have my way we should get it out of the way and get it done on time.
Well, I guess that's it and I had just wanted to say hey, so I'm going to close now and call it a night (well, in another 30 minutes). I hope you have a great week or at least the beginning of one, and I'll talk to you again sometime soon.

Not too bad of a Saturday, hot and sunny that is for sure! Got the lawn mowed and detailed this afternoon, guess that it was at the time of the day that it was the hottest it could have been and sweated my butt off out there. It's still growing like weeds too, was way to long so I ended up having to rake part of it again - but at least just about all of the brown spots have filled in and it looks great!
It poured rain last night right as I was geting home from work so I couldn't wash my truck as I had planned to do, the poor baby was filthy and some bird crapped all over it so I left it out there in the rain to wash some of it off. I did end up getting around to washing it again tonight though and hadn't even though of opening up the bed cover and wash out the back but it sure could have used it as it hadn't been done since they installed it. But I did get these bits of metal stuck in my washing mitt and I was freaked out that one of them was going to end up scrathing the surface of the rest of it, but guess that I came through it without incident.
Well, this day is done and I'm beat so it'll be a short time and then it'll be time for me and Monto to lay our heads down to sleep, so I'm going to end this here and write more at a later time. Night for now - Happy Sunday my friends :)

And then there was a better day :) Today went well, the cable modem in the ballroom went without a hitch, it was still a crunch to get ready for Sales Strategy Meeting but that went well and I even had the guts to leave my GM a v/m last night that I needed to talk to him about some things - which he got back with me today and listened to my concerns if nothing else. I'm sure that I didn't make too many new friends in doing so, but I really needed to get the things off of my chest that I did. And to end the day, my new Regional even called me to ask me to send her some information so that she could respond to an issue that she wasn't familiar with so hopefully I'll be hearing from her more often.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that Ford sent me a large box yesterday and turned out to be a gift for buying a vehicle from them. It was these two fold out chairs in bag, rugged for when I go 4 wheeling - yeah right! But it was a nice unexpected gesture on their part, kind of an added bonus in an unexpected way. I also had this little puppy dog wandering around my backyard tonight when I went to let Montie out after work, thought that it was a dog from across the road but I wasn't sure as they've got like 6 of them. I gave him some water as he was panting like crazy, and Montie even got to meet him and was somewhat nice about it. But I didn't want to leave him out front as he'd then wander into the street and I couldn't have that - so I waited around a while and finally it turned out that their entire family was out looking for him (well, her) and they came back all panicking and thanked me for watching out for her.
Otherwise I'm looking forward to another weekend and should be an ok day tomorrow, my boss left for vacation today as soon as our meetings were over for the next week. I'll have to call and check on my lawn mower and see if it's fixed yet - but hoping that I might have another week before I have to go and get it again. So, have a super duper Friday and until the next time try and remember what I learned today ...... you can't fix the problem if no one is aware of it :)

I'll have to call and check on my lawn mower and see if it's fixed yet - but hoping that I might have another week before I have to go and get it again. So, have a super duper Friday and until the next time try and remember what I learned today ...... you can't fix the problem if no one is aware of it :)

Rough Day - at least Hump Day is behind us, done, buried and over at this point in our lives! I won't go into details but there were a bunch of things that went on today that just didn't seem right, I haven't figured it out yet but I'm sure that I will one of these days sometime soon. I've got my Sales Strategy Meeting at 11am tomorrow with a guest attendee being our Regional VP of Sales so I'm sure that it'll be a full house and with the way that today went I didn't think that I was even going to be ready for it ...... but after working till 6pm at the office and then another couple hours tonight I think that I might just make it ....... couple more reports and then copying so I should be able to throw it all together just in time. I also have to go in at 6:30am to make sure that the high speed internet thing is working for one of our very important groups and trouble shoot it if it doesn't so I hope that goes smoothly and it won't take any extra time - and my boss even gave me the afternoon off if I came in early ...... like that's going to happen :(
At least today my carpenter finished up my garage side door, I think that I ordered it the 10th of April while I was on vacation and has been sitting in my garage for at least the last month - but it's ok, I waited and the good has come once again. I'm not sure how much it's going to cost me though as we haven't even talked about price, so I hope that he doesn't hit me up with a $2k bill after it's all said and done but guess that we'll see. They have also been cutting down all of the trees in the backyard of the guys house across the street from me, and gives the view and entirely new perspective of things, just seems so much more open but I'm just not used to it yet. They've been working on it for at least the past week and guess that he had quite the jungle in there (it's behind a fence) but I hadn't realized that he had that many trees back there for all of them that they've been pulling out. They also poured the driveway for the duplex right next to me yesterday and it's more like a parking lot - they were out there at 5:30am yesterday morning with that dirt compacter thing, good think that I get up early and it wasn't on a Saturday! The first one is just about ready to rent though, they still need to add more to my fence (which I'll have to paint) and then do the landscaping but I think that someone will be living in it within the next month (the "for rent" sign is all ready out front).
Dang I'm beat, just when I think that I've had a bad day, the next day comes and it's even worse ...... so I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings :) Night for now - stay as happy as you can ..... just remember, it's almost Friday once again!

The case of my missing socks has been solved and no, none of my neighbors came and stole them from the garage while I was doing laundry yesterday :) I was bound and determined to figure out what had happened to them tonight after I couldn't find them anywhere, checked all of the clothes that I folded and still they didn't show up so then I retraced my steps back to the dryer where I last saw them and they weren't out there or in the dryer, but finally I opened up the washer lid and there they were, guess they fell inside sometime before I closed the top. I was rather excited to have found them, plus I guess kind of relieved as I couldn't for the life of me figure out who would have taken them ...... but luckily it was all in my head (again!).
Busy day at work too and it kept me hopping all day, trying to keep a lid on things and not letting things get too oversold. And my Group Coordinator got promoted to a Sales Manager position and they finalized things today so now I've got to replace her - or more likely replace the person who is going to replace her. I'm not sure what it is about this place but we haven't had any turnover in the office in almost 18 months - none, zilch, zippo but it's good that this turnover was due to a promotion and not someone quitting. I did at one point have people lined up who wanted to come work in the office - but not too sure how many of them are still left working at the hotel so all we can do is to post it and see who comes applying.
I also talked to a business associate tonight that has been after me for a week or so, and he's been checking out my website regularly (I think) and it was funny how much he knew about me for someone that I've never met before. He mentioned the house, the lawn, how much he liked my truck - I'm like dang, sounds like you know just about everything about me!!! Maybe it's not such a good idea to have it all out there for the world to read ....... but it hasn't caused me any grief yet so I guess that it might be ok. Our company went private today too - even tore down the NYSE ticker symbol so I guess that it's official that we are now a private company - dang if that didn't go through easy enough ........ $600 million dollars exchanged hands and most people didn't even bat an eye, go figure. And the next few days should be very busy as we've got Staff Meeting all afternoon tomorrow, then our Regional arrives on Wednesday pm and is here all day Thursday (well, till 1pm anyway) so my Sales Strategy Meeting has been moved to 11am on Thursday which will be a crunch - then lunch with her (steak sandwich - yummy!!! :) but then the week will be pretty much over after that. Still waiting for some big announcement - figuring it'll only be a couple of more days from here.
I'm also still working on my side business venture which I'm still researching, trying to figure out if I can make a million bucks with it but it's looking up, just not too sure how much time I can find to commit to the project. Let me see if I can get this right - but if I could tell you about a product that is safer, cheaper and works better while saving the enviroment that you can have delivered to your door for a lower price than you can buy at the store - would you be interested in hearing more? It goes something like that - more later! And that's it for another day ..... life sure is interesting isn't it, and it gets better with every day (believe it or not!) Nito from the Scotto!!! :o)~

Man, what a day and I'm beat at this point of the day! I got up at 7:30am and went to the lawn mower repair place and picked up the trailer and then brought it back here and loaded up my mower and took it back to see what they can do to it to get it running all great again. I did great with the trailer too, and as long as there is no backing up involved then I'm fine - and actually think that I got a little more comfortable in driving my sports trac too. Montie got to go for a ride (twice!) too, so he really like that ...... once he got over his intial fear that he was going back for another haircut! I ended up going to Walmart last night and bought the ball for my bumper for the trailer and I get there and they have both a 1 3/4" and a 2" ball to choose from - and I just knew that whichever one I bought it'd be the wrong size, so I ended up buying the interchangable one, cost more but at least I was covered either way. Worked out fine today too, even have that handy little trailer light outlet that just plugs right in - and even those worked too!
But it took me 1/2 hour to drive each way, so it was almost 11am before I got out there and mowed the lawn and man if it wasn't long, I swear that the backyard was growing more right before my eyes as I mowed it. It clumped up and I had chunks which I then had to rake some of the areas again ....... and I'm kind of over raking at this point in my life. But that dethatching thing really worked wonders, all of the brown spots are filling in and the Scott Turf Builder that I put on it last weekend is really greening things up. I'm going to have to slow down on the watering of it though as it's growing too much right now, so I think that I'll cut back the 2nd watering to every other day starting with tomorrow.
After weed wacking and blowing off the sidewalks I ended up having to pressure wash my driveway to get rid of all of the grass that wouldn't blow away, then started to de-rust it again which is spraying this stuff on it which just melts the rust from the sprinklers away. But after the first gallon was gone I refilled it, then the pump to pressurize the spayer didn't work so I never quite finished it. I'll have to pick up another one of those sprayer things again tomorrow as I love the thing and comes in mighty handy, and then finish it off at some point next week. I just love a nice white concrete driveway!
I even remembered to break out the ladder and get up on the roof and wash my sunroof off and the thing was filthy, mucho better looking from the bathroom too. I think that was about it for the day but would have to say that my biggest accomplishment was taking my mower in for repairs, even if it takes a couple of weeks it'll be good to have it up and running again (and it runs great, it just won't go into gear but I'm hoping that it's nothing too major).
And so, how was your day - hope the weather was great and that you had some fun today ..... it looked like rain here all day but only rained for about 5 minutes tonight, and I swear that it only rained in the front of the house as the street was wet but my back patio was dry ....... go figure. And I could really use a shower right about now as now my right shoulder is hurting - at least my left one is better but it's the same thing and has just switched sides - go figure! Oh well, until another day take it easy and I hope that you are enjoying life tonight! :o)~

It's almost another weekend and we had a good Sales Strategy Meeting, not much else went on but the hotel is booming with guests from Mississippi ..... just about every car in the parking lot has plates from there! It's still been crazy with my phone ringing off the hook, thought that things were going to slow down a little sometime in the future but we haven't seen it yet. At least tomorrow I have no real deadlines to adhere to other than a few "gotta do" things but no meetings on the agenda at this point so that's always good.
Everyone is still trying to figure out what's going on as there is something brewing in the stew, and our Regional VP of Sales is coming in next Wednesday night for like 12 hours and no one is saying why - we just know that it's more than just a friendly visit but no one is quite sure. I just wish that everyone could handle things a little differently as it doesn't have to be this way, and things are getting worse instead of better but guess that whatever it is, we'll all find out soon enough. I might have to say something to someone sometime soon, someone that I know suggested that I do that, that it was my responsibility to let them know how I'm feeling ...... but I dunno, I don't usually work that way.
On another topic, my lawn is doing wonders, not sure if it was the dethatching project or the now watering it twice a day but it's greener than it's been all summer and the brown spots are filling in nicely - and it's growing like weeds so I can't wait to see what it looks like after I mow it again this weekend. Still not sure if I'm going to take my lawn mower in this weekend or not but want to take the mowing deck off of it first and see if I can see anything wrong with it - and if not then I'll take it in from there. I still haven't done anything about the ball for my truck to hook the trailer up to, but I can run to Walmart tomorrow night if I decide to. Otherwise, the weekend is pretty much wide open, nothing out of the ordinary planned any ways. Oh, the one thing that I need to remember to do is to get up on the roof and clean the sky light that's in the bathroom as it's filthy and I haven't done that since I moved in, and I bet that it'll brighten things up inside too.
Well, that's about it ER is on so I guess that I'll watch that for a while and then it's time to call it a night. So, have a great Friday and remember that the weekend is almost upon us, and take it slow and easy until then! TGIF!!!

It rained today - thought that it was important to document that momentous occasion as it doesn't happen way too often enough, but that brought the power outage, then another one and I ended up having to do the work that I was trying to do on the puter three times instead of once ...... but I guess that's the price that we pay, ugh :o) We def needed the rain - got a couple of inches at least so that should be helping bring greener grasses all around!
Night, humps done and it's downhill, well once I make it through Sales Strategy Meeting tomorrow it will be! I'm happy, so you be happy too, k :?)

Happy Days ...... and it's almost another hump that's done! And I guess that my bro redeemed himself, I finally broke down and called him and guess that the closing on my Mom's house hasn't even happened yet and guess that they are still bickering over one inspection or another ...... two weeks later! And he told me that he had planned on e-mailing me when it did happen, so I guess that I can eat a little crow for dinner and apologize for anything that I might have said earlier. And I tried to get a ball for the bumper on my truck tonight at a car parts place on my way home from work - got there at 5:32pm and it closed at 5:30 and the doors were locked, I didn't want to buy from them anyways so it's their tough luck. But it should be easy enough to buy and install, afterall it is just one bolt and then tighten it down.
I also ended up swapping out one of my sprinkler heads in my backyard tonight as it stopped turning and it's right by the fence that I painted a few months back - and it's right where I started painting and I spilled paint on it. But now I think that I've got a water pressure issue in zone #06, so I might have to think about rerouting one of my heads to a different zone ...... and that won't be an easy task as it means digging up a trail and rerunning the pipes. Work was fine today and I'm on schedule thus far and it's almost half over so I guess that that is GREAT! Happy Hump to everyone, and remember, it's downhill into the weekend from this point on :)

Evening Peeps, and Happy Monday that was :o) It was a pretty good day at work, busy and all so it flew right by but it's kind of nice to be back on the ole normal schedule again! And business is booming - did the forecast for next week and we are sold out every day from this Wednesday through next Saturday with the exception of Sunday (we never sell out on Sunday's!) so all I've got to do is hold it all together and make as much rate as I can ...... we've never seen such a busy month in the history of the hotel (well, so they say as I've not been here that long to personally validate that). Hot too ...... 95' + ...... oh, the joys of summer!
And I called about having someone look at my lawn mower today, the same people that have been fixing my pressure washer for the last month and they have a trailer that I can go and get and load up the mower and bring it in for them to fix so I might get up early this Saturday and do that. The only problem is that I need one of those balls to go on my bumper on the truck and I think that the wiring for the lights is all ready there (thank you Ford!), so I might try and work on that this week - that'll be the first step. One guy from work offered to let me use his trailer but it'd have to be on Wednesday morning - and I'd have to take half the day off to do that so I don't think that's gonna happen ...... but I'm in no real hurry to get it fixed as I've still got my push-mower that I've been using lately anyways (actually, it's self propelled, it kind of pushes itself). And my lawn is looking a little better each day - even saw where some new grass was growing out front but I think that it might be that nasty rye grass and not my centipede - but it's green and fills in the brown spots so I guess that I shouldn't complain all that much.
Oh and back to work for one quick second ...... it seems like there is something strange happening that no one can figure out what the "big picture" is, there are just way to many meetings going on and everyone is acting kind of strange that it's leading everyone to speculate on what they "think" is going on ....... in my opinion I just wish that they'd put it all out in the open so that we could face whatever it is that is looming around the corner, sure would make for a better working enviroment anyways.
Still no word from my bro so I guess that I'll have to break down and call him this week, plus I'm working on a new business venture that I've been reading about but not too sure how promising it is at this point ..... I'm just going to take it slow and see where it takes me. Not too much else to report, the shoulder is feeling better and I think that I know what changed to have caused it but guess that it's too soon to tell about that too. What can I say - I'm just full of answers ain't I :?) Talk to you later ....... it's downhill into the weekend from here ...... don't sweat the small stuff as life is too short ..... and remember to keep that smile on !!! Nito from the Scotto - talk more soon!

Sunday night here, and I'm kind of glad to get back to a regular week, all's on schedule at this point to head back to work in the morning! And it was a pretty good weekend around here, worked my butt off yesterday outside working on the yard but I think that my lawn may even be starting to come back to life after all of my efforts. I had also decided to dethatch the lawn once more before I mowed it Saturday morning and got about 3/4 of the way down and my lawn mower quit moving ....... I don't think that it likes towing things very much and finally gave up trying and I think that I might have killed it in doing so. It has something to do with the clutch, that I do know as it doesn't matter if I push it in or let it out - it's the same and never engages into whatever gear. I'm hoping that it's just a cable that snapped or something like that and I'll have to try and figure out where to get it fixed - but my biggest challenge will be in getting it there ...... anyone know anyone who owns a trailer?
Montie got his hair cut yesterday too and he must be about 10 pounds lighter and seems to be enjoying his new doo. I think the part that bothers him the most is that they shave off his wiskers off along with his hair so he comes home and rolls his face around in my bed, must itch or something. And I was thinking that we might be better off if I came home some weekday and dropped him off at the beauty salon and then picked him up on my way home from work - that way I wouldn't have to leave him there on one of the only few days that we have to spend together. I might think about it the next time, we'll see how it goes.
I've also been reading up on my muscle tension that's causing me pain in my neck and I ready one article that suggests that interverting one's self releases nearly 50% of the tension ...... kind of a negative gravity thing or something. I did a couple of head stands tonight and it seemed to help a little - but then it gave me a headache with all of the blood rushing to my head that I had to give up. I really think that I just need to find a massage therapist and that'll be my cure - still working on it though.
The week ahead should be more of a normal week, no deadlines ahead that I know of right now ....... busy but without the undue pressure like last week. But I've said that before ..... so enough said all ready - have another GREAT week! Till the next time take care and I'll be writing on here another day real soon.
